I made this LUT for ME first of all, to get the best possible images out of this fantastic little camera. A McDonald's meal is probably more expensive (at least here in Europe it definitely is)! I have no interest in gouging anyone. Then there's the week of in-depth testing (my cinematographer day rate is US$500 a day, which is cheap itself considering) at all hours of the day, countless iterations to get the colour science perfect, a bunch of additional work last night to get it perfect, and you have the gall to advocate ripping it off?

I'm the one who first raised the issue of magenta cyan colour splotching, and of the undocumented bug in Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 with 10 bit 4:2:2 footage behaving like 8 bit footage (with a bug report subsequently filed with Adobe).
You want to talk about sharing information? Go read the Exposing for V-Log L thread. I started the idea of building this LUT in response to the image quality issues plaguing V-Log L on the GH4. Go and visit my website and see who I am. Perhaps you should pay a bit of attention to things like my joining date of this forum. No one is forcing you to be in this thread, so why dump all over what is essentially a far cheaper way for people to get the same quality as V-Log L, created by a working cinematographer? It's a pity, that panasonic opened pandoras box by selling this stupid upgrade for the first time. It doesn't make so much difference if you describe a solution to problem by words or put it into technical form like this LUTs.īut there is big difference between sharing information within a community and just doing public relation work to sell a product.
